#4 "Dreamgirls"

This movie was awful. Neither me or Slammy liked it. Don't fall for all the talk of 7 Oscar nominations. Most of them are for Best song. First know that it is a musical. The kind where people just start singing in the middle of a conversation. The music is awful. Now this has nothing to do with genre. I really enjoy Motown music. There wasn't a single song in this film that was memorable or catchy, and the characters are basically distorted parodies of real people bent to make the film work. If you feel like seeing this don't you will regret it. Instead go to the local video store and rent this great documentary; "Standing In The Shadows of Motown." This film is not recommended and only enjoyable aspect is the beauty of Beyonce.

# 3: "Stranger Than Fiction"

We caught this at the dollar theater the other day. It was enjoyable and sweet. The highlights of the film are the scenes where Will Ferrel is interacting with Dustin Hoffman. Without these scenes the film would have been fairly boring. I somewhat reccomend it.

#2 "Bobby"

Last night we braved the frozen tundra to check out this film. I believe that I enjoyed it a little more than the others I was with who were possibly under the impression that it was a biopic. Instead however it is a day in the life of 20 or so individuals who are at the hotel that Bobby Kennedy's California post-primary-election will be held. I would recommend the film.

Item of note. This has Helen Hunt in it. When was the last time you saw her in anything. I honestly can't remember. Well whatever it was, she looks like she has aged about ten years since then. Of course I suppose it could have been ten years since I saw her in something. What year was "Twister."

#1 Children Of Men

i had not even seen a preview for this film when we decided to go see it the other day in middle of somewhere Florida. It was a very cool film, especially if you like post-apocalyptic films that take place in England. in fact you could have agood time watching this with "28 Days Later" and "V is For Vendetta" It brought up very interesting ideas while doing a good job of not trying to think for you. They say it is the Blade runner for a new generation. That would be very wrong, because Blade Runner was awful and boring.

I highly recommend seeing it.
